General Terms and Conditions
Booking courses
Booking conditions
Once we receive your registration details, your course place is booked on a binding basis. Any remaining balance of the course fee is payable on the day of the course in cash or, where available, by debit card.
Cancellation terms
We reserve the right to run the course only if at least five people register. You will be informed one week before the course date whether it will take place.
If Baum & Bogen cancels the course, your deposit will be refunded in full. We accept no liability for any additional costs, such as travel or cancellation charges.
If you cannot attend the course
1. Cancellation deadlines and charges
Cancellation must be communicated in text form, for example by email. Deadlines are calculated based on the date we receive the cancellation.
The following conditions apply when cancelling a booked course place:
Up to 6 weeks (42 days) before the course begins:
Full refund of the course fee or deposit already paid.
Up to 4 weeks (28 days) before the course begins:
An administration charge of €50 per course place.
Up to 1 week (7 days) before the course begins:
An administration charge of €90 per course place.
From 6 days before the course begins, or in the event of non-attendance:
The full course fee will be charged, excluding material costs.
2. Substitute participant
If you provide a substitute participant who takes over your course place, the relevant administration charges are waived in full.
The substitute participant assumes all rights and obligations arising from the original booking.
3. Illness
The cancellation terms also apply in the event of illness.
On presentation of a medical certificate, transfer to a later course date may be possible by agreement. Alternatively, a substitute participant may be provided.
4. Evidence of a lower loss
Participants expressly retain the right to demonstrate that no loss, or a substantially lower loss, was incurred than the amount covered by the applicable fixed charge.
We strongly recommend taking out course cancellation insurance.
Special booking and cancellation terms for retreats on La Gomera
The following conditions apply to retreats on La Gomera in place of our general course cancellation terms:
The seminar fee paid to Baum & Bogen covers participation in the retreat or seminar. Travel, accommodation and meals are not included in the seminar fee.
For retreats at Finca Argayall, you select your room when booking the retreat in the Baum & Bogen shop, making a binding room reservation at the same time. You do not need to make a separate room reservation directly with Finca Argayall. You pay for accommodation and meals on site at Finca Argayall. Accommodation and services provided there are subject to Finca Argayall’s booking and cancellation terms.
For retreats at Finca El Cabrito, first book your accommodation directly with Finca El Cabrito. Once your accommodation has been confirmed, make your binding retreat booking in the Baum & Bogen shop.
1. Retreat cancellation
Retreat cancellations must be made in text form, for example by email. Compliance with the deadline is determined by the date we receive your cancellation.
If you cancel up to and including 90 days before the retreat begins, we will refund the course fee already paid, less a fixed administration and cancellation charge of €80.
For later cancellations, the course fee is generally not refunded. However, the amount already paid, less expenses that cannot be saved, will be credited towards a retreat offered by us in the following calendar year.
2. Evidence of a lower loss
You expressly retain the right to demonstrate that your cancellation caused us no loss or a substantially lower loss.
If the vacated course place can be filled by another participant, the revenue received will be taken into account in the calculation.
3. Substitute participant
By prior arrangement, a suitable substitute participant may take over your course place.
4. Accommodation and other travel costs
Cancelling the retreat does not automatically cancel your accommodation booking. You must arrange any changes or cancellation of your accommodation directly with Finca Argayall.
The terms of the respective provider apply to the costs of separately booked accommodation, travel to and from the retreat, and any other services you book yourself.
We recommend taking out appropriate course or travel cancellation insurance.
Liability disclaimer
Each course participant is responsible for their own health.
Participants undertake to handle bows and arrows carefully and to follow the course leader’s safety instructions. Parents or legal guardians assume responsibility for minors.
By registering, participants agree to these General Terms and Conditions.
Buying a wooden bow
Buying a wooden bow requires trust between the customer and the bowyer. Personal contact, or at least a telephone conversation beforehand, is therefore very important to me. This allows us to clarify exactly what your bow should be like and discuss your archery experience. Your bow is prepared and built on the basis of this conversation and what you have told me about yourself.
To handle your order as clearly as possible, I would nevertheless like to set out a few points in these terms:
Your Wiedemann wooden bow comes with the legally required two-year warranty for materials and workmanship defects.
The warranty is void if the bow is handled incorrectly (stringing and unstringing, storage, dry firing, temperature changes, shooting a cold bow, maximum draw length, etc.). Signs of incorrect handling can generally be identified, for example through compression damage or a twisted limb. Please follow the use and care instructions supplied with the bow.
The warranty is not transferable.
Liability for personal injury and property damage is excluded, both for the bow’s user and for other persons.
If the bow is shipped, check the packaging and bow for damage on receipt. Any damage must be reported to the carrier immediately.
The order becomes binding once the agreed deposit has been received in the account.
If you have a complaint after receiving your bow, please contact me within 14 days.
Because natural materials are used and a reserve in draw weight is left before the bow is shot in, a tolerance of +/- 2 lbs from the requested draw weight is possible.
Special requests for your bow may lead to a change from the advertised price. Any changes will be stated in the quotation or negotiated separately.
The place of jurisdiction is Berlin.

For other bowyers, archers and website creators
If you find these terms and care instructions useful, you may use all or part of them on your own website. This allows us to benefit from different experiences, learn from each other and improve our safeguards through our terms and conditions.
I welcome feedback and suggestions for additions.
Wishing you every success and best regards,
Gerhard Wiedemann
